About
Why “switchback”?
Because nobody climbs a mountain straight up.
On a steep trail, the path zigzags: short, manageable turns that keep you climbing without burning out. That’s how we help businesses grow. Not with one giant, all-or-nothing transformation, but with a series of measured turns, each one taking you higher.
Who’s behind Switchback
Enterprise discipline, at your scale.
I’m Pedro Echavarria, the founder of Switchback Consulting.
For more than 20 years I led digital products and transformation in financial services, most recently heading International Banking Retail Digital Solutions at Scotiabank, delivering across 13 markets in Latin America and the Caribbean. Before that I worked at Citi, Mercer and McKinsey, and earned an MBA from Duke.
Along the way I learned that big transformations rarely fail for lack of ambition. They fail because the plan asks for a version of the team’s week that doesn’t exist. The ones that work move in stages: measure, pick the next turn, build it, prove it, repeat.
Switchback brings that discipline to small and medium-sized businesses in Oakville and beyond, sized to your budget and your week. And I build it with you. I don’t just recommend it.

How we work
Four promises for every climb.
No jargon
Plain English, always. If we can’t explain it simply, we don’t recommend it.
Right-sized
Enterprise discipline without enterprise overhead: fixes that fit your budget, your team and your week.
Prove it, don’t promise it
We measure before we build and again after, so you can see what actually changed.
You own it
Everything we build is yours, with simple runbooks and training so it runs without us.
